BLOOMING SUMMER REVISITED

"Blooming Summer Revisited"

My latest watercolour is an homage to 'summer'
that we have been waiting for - with baited breath.
The seemingly never-ending winter is gone, and a reluctant spring
eventually saw the daffodils emerging from bud!
But when they finally bloomed we began
to sense the promise of summer.

I hope you enjoy this painting which I began
in a 'paint along' class with Johannes Vloothuis.

However, I have included much more greenery
and more flowers in my version of the painting
as this is the type of garden we are
more used to in Europe.

I think it is now  finally finished!

WEYMOUTH HARBOUR II - SOLD

"Weymouth Harbour II"

"Ferry me across the water, do boatman do!
If you've a penny in your pocket, I'll ferry you!"

A watercolour painted from a photograph, to show the
harbourside in Weymouth  about twenty or thirty years ago.
There are many more yachts in the marina these days,
but there is still a working fishing harbour and it is still very pretty.
You will find a few antique shops these days along the quay, but
you will also find some good fish and chip shops
selling freshly caught fish - wonderful!

You can also still get a ferryman to take you from one side
of the harbour to the other  in his small rowing boat, but it
will cost more than the old penny
you would have paid sixty years ago!
